Faced with such a propositional project as "Chengdu Gift", there is no doubt that it should represent Chengdu. We need to find some outstanding elements of Chengdu, and refine them to give her, so that the case can more clearly represent Chengdu.

In addition to pandas and hibiscus, Chengdu actually has a memory belonging to this city, that is ginkgo leaves. It is an indispensable part of the feelings of people who really live in this city today.

The building of the Independent Pavilion is designed around the concept of box. This box, which is about to be opened, seems to bring mystery and surprise to people. Therefore, in addition to representing Chengdu, this project is also a "gift".

The so-called "gift" is the gift that people give each other. As the old saying goes, "giving goose feathers from thousands of miles is more important than gift.". It can be seen that the reason why gift is "gift" is not the preciousness of things, but more about rituals, which is an expression of mind and form. Designers hope to present this emotional expression through architectural space, through the transformation of ordinary gift box prototype, finally, "Chengdu Gift" such a special box came into being.

This box is a gift for all visitors from Chengdu as a popular tourist destination city. It is also a gift to every member of the city. Walking into the box, people can explore the gifts or memories of Chengdu.

The large frame of the exhibition hall is a dome space composed of white metal sheets shaped by ginkgo leaves, which not only is full of Chengdu's urban cultural characteristics, but also gives more imaginative space to customers who come here. The pink counters are arranged orderly on green tiles, and people who enter the box shuttle freely between these counters to find gifts about Chengdu in their hearts.

At the end of the exhibition hall is the reception hall for customers to enjoy tea. The design of the front desk adopts the style of the folk houses in Western Sichuan with the green brick and grey tile, which shows the unique tea house culture of this city with the reputation of leisure capital. There are two round tables and several chairs in the rest area, which are simple in shape and smooth in line.

In such a space as Chengdu Gift, we condense Chengdu. Here you are looking for gifts from Chengdu. Your arrival is also a gift from Chengdu.
